Time2Surrender has 1 year today!!!!!
Thanks everyone. I really appreciate all the support here at SR. I will be off to a meeting soon. They made me a chocolate cake. Its not my homegroup, but everyone asked me to come and chair the meeting. Saturday is my homegroup and another chocolate cake. And finally, when they ask "can everyone with one year or more please raise their hands to show the program works" .... I finally get to raise my hand. I've been waiting a long time to do that. My sponsor also said I need to be raising my hand when they ask who is willing to be a sponsor. Me a sponsor? Hmmmmm. Maybe.
Great meeting tonight. I have chaired plenty of meetings. No problem. I dont mind speaking in front of people. But...............Tonight? I was nervous. They had a cake with my name on it. 65 people showed up. 5 people gave me coins. It felt good. I feel good. Talk about a natural high. Wow. NA rocks. And I still have my homegroup on Saturday. More coins? Another cake?
I apologize for being late here Mike, I just got home but I do want to thank you so much for sharing your recovery and for showing us that it does work. So Mike....................

well old buddy
not going to give you any crap about the second year being the hardest or any crap like that!
I do know, if someone like me can stay clean and sober for almost 7 years a guy as sharp as you can keep on as well.
btw, an old timer with almost 22 years was telling about a guy that just came back after a 3 year drunk. He had 21 years clean and sober right before that!!!
