The Northeast Zonal Forum is this weekend also for those of you interested in service or issues affecting the NA fellowship.
In Williamsport, PA
What is a Zonal Forum?
NA members get together and form a GROUP
In order to keep the focus of a group on recovery, business meetings are held separately. When there are many groups, they pool their resources, such as money, experience, and talented, willing addicts, so that they can do a better job of conducting business such as providing a helpline, a Public Information Committee, providing literature, an H&I committee, etc...so........
Groups get together and form an AREA (Area Service Committee; ASC)
Areas get together and form a REGION (Regional Service Committee; RSC)
Regions in close geographical proximity get together to form a ZONE (Zonal Forum; ZF)
When all the regions in the Zone get together for a meeting, it is called a Zonal Forum.
The North East Zonal Forum.......
There are 14 member Regions.
They are:
1 ABCD (Albany)
2 Buckeye (Ohio)
3 Connecticut
4 Eastern New York
5 Greater New York (NYC and Westchester)
6 Mid-Atlantic (Pennsylvania)
7 New England (Rhode island, Eastern Mass.)
8 New Jersey (Southern and central NJ)
9 Northern New York
10 Western New York (Buffalo/Niagra Falls)
11 Northern New England (Mass, New Hampshire)
12 Mountain Valley (Vermont)
13 Tri-State (Western Pennsylvania)
14 Northern New Jersey
Our Zonal Forum was formed to provide participants in the Northeast United States a forum for discussion and exchange of information on problems and issues confronting the regions of the Northeast U.S. It also gives the delegates the opportunity to discuss progress on World Service issues. This forum provides a place for regions to network and share ideas, with the focus on finding solutions. The Northeast Zonal Forum (NEZF) meets for one weekend every 6 months. Each forum is hosted by a different region, on a rotating alphabetical order. The local fellowship is welcome to attend and the Open Forum sessions allow participation by anyone.
