Welcome to SR

For filling in...
you could look for meetings in other areas.
you can come here and gather some support at SR.
you can read the 12 x12 and the Big Book.
Look for other kinds of meetings... AA/Bible studies/on line meetings.

Yes face to face NA can be the best but other things can fill in ok between meetings. Use all that is available and you will find different understandings that will help you grow faster.

I am in recovery from crack and everything else, but I go to AA. I've gotten a much more solid recovery foundation through AA. The Big Book has helped me more than any therapist I've ever seen!

Try AA too.

Have you tried an NA meeting search engine:

Smile Welcome!!

Hi Babers71,

I'm sure you've probably already heard the suggestions, right?

[1] Do 90 meetings in 90 days.
[2] Join a homegroup.
[3] Read NA literature (get a Basic Text, It Works-How & Why, Just For Today daily meditation readings and the Step Working Guide) - Oh yeah, the IP's (informational pamphelts) are good too!
[4] Get a sponsor.
[5] Do Step work.
[6] Get involved in service.

To some, this alone may sound like a lot to do, and it can be - but if you're following all of the suggestions and still feel as though you need more; you may want to consider:

*Looking for meetings outside your area.
*Come to SR for support, or seek other NA related websites.
*Get together with members at the meeting in your area and organize functions for clean fun.
*Look into starting another meeting.

When I was new, I attended all types of meetings but I found identification and lasting recovery in NA. NA has been my "home" for many years now. Keep up the good work and no matter where you go, remember that you never have to use again!!

Be blessed,
GarryW

Also, get some phone numbers of members at your meeting and call them if you feel an urge to use.

I agree that it can be...just keep in mind that we didn't become addicted overnight, so don't recover overnight, either. "Easy does it" and just do what's in front of you. Even babies have to crawl before they walk and walk before they run. I hope to see more of you here at SR!!
