Some advice, please
Some advice, please
Hi all,
I generally hang out on the Substance abuse family board, but I thought you could perhaps, help me out here.
My oldest son, age 33, is an addict. He is currently in prison, (3rd time, hopefully last....) and has been writing to me stating he really, truly wants to stay sober.
In fact, and this is a first, he asked his lawyer if he can be placed in Rehab upon his release in March.
Anyway, I'm trying to send him some good inspirational NA info, although he is attending meetings, and chairing.
I'm not setting my expectations too high this time, but, by golly, he really sounds sincere. (which he usually does when he's sober...LOL)
Thanks for your help.
Sorry if I've crossed over a line...

All NA readings are good inspiration! However I would get the NA Basic Text, It Works How and Why, and also the Just For Today. I think those are the basics anyways. Hope that helps

If you attend a NA meeting in your area yourself you can pick up a ton of literature. Most of the NA pamphlets are free and really helpful. I agree with the other 2 posts also. Basic Text, It works how and why, and just for today are really great books.
You and your son are in my thoughts. Take care.

Thanks all,
I'm not sure what books he has right now, but that Recovery Bible sounds pretty good. I may just have to attend an NA meeting, never have, but I think I'd like to.
Thanks for the info.
Crossing my fingers!
