I'm not sick, I don't need help
Thread title is a book title. The book is all about how to relate to/support/help someone that appears to suffering with a mental condition that would benefit from professional help when they don't think help is needed. I recently found about this book but I've yet to read it because it appears to no longer be stocked at local bookstores and I'm hesitant to have it delivered to my home because...well, you probably can imagine why.
Anyone had experience with it's concepts? The info I've found sounds interesting in that it's about working with the person to gain partnership rather than working to convince them they're sick. What I just said is expressed better here.

I'm 6 months+ sober and know that no one could have told me to stop drinking. I had to decide. I see the parallel between that and me wanting my wife to have the benefit of professional help when she doesn't want it. So I'm intrigued by the potential of this book and will find a way to read it.
In the mean time I thought I'd ask for feedback here.
Thanks

Thanks historyteach.
When I get it I'm sure I'm going to be thinking "how would I have reacted to this approach regarding quiting drinking?"
Not that it's what the author targeted, but still...
