Midas

Tonight, I am grateful for the Angels of Light that seemingly appear when we need them the most.

A young woman, whom I've never seen before, approached me as I smoked a cigarette outside my apartment.

"I don't suppose you have an extra smoke I could have, do you?" she said.

"It's a fresh pack I just picked up today." I said as I reached into my pocket.

As I started to hand her the cigarette, she asked "Are you OK?"

"Oh yeah. I'm OK."

"You sure??"

"Sure I'm sure." I smiled.

She said thanks, and as I turned away, she said "Have a good night."

Now, I usually don't give idle banter such as this a second thought. A complete stranger asking me if I'm OK. O if she only knew the troubled mind I've had the last few days...but then, maybe somehow she could tell.
Women naturally have that uncanny 6th sense, I suppose.

I dunno.
