Today I am grateful for a safe 1440-mile two-day journey from northern Illinois to south-west Florida. We went through Alabama to avoid Atlanta adding 60 miles to the trip but avoided the aggravation of Atlanta traffic stalls. There were lots of trees down in northern Florida on the I-10 interstate corridor from the most recent hurricane. Crews were chopping the trees up and removing the debris. With some more hurricanes there will be few trees left to topple over.

Today I am grateful for seeing an eagle on my morning walk. It was perched high in a pine tree overlooking a pond probably looking for a fish.
