my Husband

Today I will use this day to be a better person than I was the day before.

Thank you. Happy I知 here. Although I知 not in recovery, my husband is and I want to better understand the journey to sobriety.
Over the years, I致e been controlling and sometimes downright mean. I have many regrets over how I致e handled our arguments over his drinking. Always accusing, always expressing disdain and disappointment and sometimes disgust. I look back and feel just absolutely awful. I wish I had discovered Al Anon sooner. It would have saved us many many years of fights caused by my inability to accept alcoholism is a disease. And as they say in Al Anon, just as you can稚 stop cancer from spreading, you can稚 stop a loved one from drinking.
I hope I can gain both the insight and strength to be there for my husband as he continues his journey of sobriety.
