Day 7!!!!!
In 1 hour 46 Min and 42 Seconds ( I have a countdown app I will be 7 days sober! It’s been quite awhile since I’ve come this far. Also had a few temptations that I navigated through. Very proud but extremely cautious. I struggle with the fact that you can never “breeth a sigh of relief” knowing you’ve beat this but I guess that’s part of having a disease, coming to terms with the unknown. Have a blessed day everyone!!💕
Congrats, Opie! I don’t believe we can ever breathe a sigh of relief in life in general. We always have to be on guard. But we do get stronger as we stay sober. When bad things happen in life, they don’t seem quite as bad when we are sober and we have the strength to deal with them. I’ve even inserted a bit of humor in even the seeming negative things. There is so much more perspective in sobriety. And there is always something to be grateful for
Keep going. It will get better!

Good job. You should be past the cravings, or close. Now come the head games, the part you called the "unknown." Perhaps unknown, but well understood by the long time sober crowd that drinking again will put you back on the roller coaster. Watch out for when you find yourself trying to present an argument for another drink. That's the one you need to recognize as the fool's errand.

Day 5 for me
Wonderful comments from this Community. I've been an online member for 2 months, and had not taken sobriety seriously enough. After my family got very impatient and angry with me, I suddenly changed my tune. Felt a humbleness that I definitely needed to feel. I do feel humble now. 😁
Cravings this week have not been as bad as usual, I think that attempting a keto diet has helped keep the carbohydrate cravings at bay. Gratitude? I'm grateful for God's love and forgiveness, my family and their forgiveness, and this wonderful SR site. Thank you so much.
