Greatful for starting 2019 with Sober Recovery
Greatful for SR.
I went 66 days last fall (2017, Oct 25- Dec 31) when I first decided to see if I could survive without alcohol. I figured, if I could make it to the end of the year, through the holidays, that I would have proven something to myself, that I could handle my affliction with alcohol. And on New Year’s Eve 2018, I MADE IT! Yay!
And then I had a drink...
And that was it for my brief stint as a recovering alcoholic. By mid Jan I was right back where I started and the rest of 2018 was a blur.
I don’t want 2019 to be like every other of the last 27 years I’ve spent drinking, and I’m making a commitment to starting anew and leaning in a little closer to the SR community. I’m 3 days in now and ready to make a lasting change this time.
I am truly greatful for Sober Recovery.
