pain brings us here, love keeps us here

Soberwolf, the pain we experience from the loss of those we love is indescribable. I buried young Italians in the U.S. Marine Corps back in 1951.

Love from people like us has sustained me so far.

Grateful that I'm up early, sober, not strung out, & ready for a long day in the Bronx.
Grateful to realize that many of my fears were learned from bad experiences born of self-sabotage -- if I stay sober, I have so much less to fear! Yay!

Grateful for today which is starting very early but appears to be painted a lot brighter than yesterday for no reason other than the passage of time and the grace of God in my heart.

Grateful for the loving hearts in recovery on this thread.
