Grateful for a great AA meeting tonight. We had a demonstration of a Japanese tea ceremony, then discussed the spiritual principles involved: harmony, tranquility, respect, and purity.

Grateful for the reminder from a member on how the "Twenty-Four Hours a Day" book has helped him stay sober the past 37 years at the meeting Monday night.

Grateful to pull out my "Twenty-Four Hours a Day" book to hopefully start reading one page at a time every morning. It's been years since I had that incorporated in my recovery.

Grateful I made it through yesterday without curling up in a ball and crying. Grateful that yesterday has passed and today will be different. Not necessarily better, just different.

I can relate to that. I have to pray myself up before dealing with either of my parents.

Grateful I made it further up one particularly difficult hill on my bike than I'd ever managed before. Our explorations on the new trails have made the one we returned to today easier. Kewl!

And grateful for my sponsor and I agreeing that I probably need to be working on Steps 1-3, especially around my family, rather than my Step 4 sex conduct inventory. She is the best!

Love and hugs,
Eddie

Grateful for a good home-cooked meal and great kids to share it with.

Grateful to the educators who have provided my children with solid academic skills, especially during the times that my help was not what it should have been.

Grateful that I can once again experience times where I am truly present in the moment.

Grateful that while I had a really *&^* day, the kind that before would have really been considered an excuse to drink, wasn't. Didn't even have the urge. That's a step in the right direction.

Grateful for knitting night with good friends.

Grateful to not drink, even when being sober feels bad.

Grateful for kitties who purr for no reason.
