I am grateful for
~my refrigerator covered with drawings done by my 3 1/2 year old son
~the dozen roses from my husband that are miraculously still looking good even though Valentine's Day was 10 days ago
~my newfound ability to reshape my life
~my sobriety
~a job that enables me to help in changing the lives of young people. It is challenging but so rewarding; it's like a high without the drugs when I see them succeed. I am blessed to have found a niche in such a unique occupation; it sure beats the pencil pushing I did for years.
~waking up in the morning with no hangover
~coffee
~hugs from my little boy
~love from my husband
~the smell of my baby girl's cheeks
~the way the cat sleeps at the foot of my bed. She doesn't care much for being pet, but she is always there, keeping a close and watchful eye on me
~freedom to live my life the way I want, without being confined to a behavioral health unit as I have been in the past and being monitored 24/7
~quiet time at night when everyone is fast asleep
~a clean house
~AA meetings
~dabbling in things I always wanted to try, but never did because I spent my free time drinking
I could go on and on, but that is enough for tonight
