Just to clarify my earlier post as a member pulled me up on it saying I was wrong. I posted:

grateful I found NA and became powerful over my addict
I hope this clarifies it.

Thanks for your concern, but I am very clear and yes my sponsor concurs as do many others.

on my own i 'was' pwoerless over my addiction, read the steps, in setp one it says 'was' not am it is in the past tense. In NA working the steps 'together' with other addicts in recovery through my HP I have power over my addiction.

The first step is in the past tense, in NA together with my HP and my peers I have the power I need to not use.

Many of us don't get this and wander around saying, I am powerless, I am power..." Like everyone else I am powerless over places and things, alone I am also powerless over my dis ease.

I know exactly what you are talking about kevin. I am no longer powerless either....
I was.... I will be again if I pick up... But as long as I stay spiritually fit one day at a time all is well...

Howdy Lbad

Grateful for honesty, even though its hard and glaring sometimes. I discovered that I picked the woman I have been seeing based on the fact that she is attracted to me. Currently backing out gracefully and glad of the insight but also very sad.
