3 positive drug tests- father of the year
Went to court today with my THIRD attorney. Surprise- inept. Did not do his homework. I gave him all the relevant paperwork. Didn't review it.
Ex has failed three drug tests- one was a failure to appear, the other two for methamphetamine. Mediator report said he had an obvious drug problem, and what's worse- was in denial and unwilling to address it. Recommended supervised visitation.
But the judge? He wants to give him another chance. Take a drug test on Wednesday.
THAT IS NOT A RANDOM TEST. Moreover, one of X's tests, though it was positive for meth, was HIGHLY diluted. HELLO- we have proof that he fakes these things!
And I bet that wasn't even brought up by my lawyer. And I'll never know if it was. Because the judge spoke to the attorneys in chambers- since this is such a "sensitive subject".
Also, X had the kids last night and was supposed to take them to school in the morning. He took them to the casino last night, then asked them in the morning, "Would you rather go the arcade or school?" Well, guess how they answered? So they missed school. Because they were at a FREAKING CASINO WITH A BUNCH OF METH ADDICTS.
Help me, Lord. Why is this happening? When will it end? What will it take?
I thought about calling CPS and saying this judge is preventing me from protecting my kids. The lawyer said that would majorly backfire when the judge caught wind of it. Moreover, there's a possibility that CPS would remove the kids from both of our homes while the investigation is pending. I wouldn't even get to see my kids until it's over. I guess that's how they ensure the parents aren't filling the kids' heads with ideas/ changing their stories.
I am really going to go insane.

Is there a women's advocate you could contact? Maybe ask a women's shelter if they know of someone who can help.
This is just wrong and ivwould use every resourse available to get help. If CPS can't help, there must be someone who can.
Keeping you and your children in my prayers.

I am so sorry to hear all this, hechose. Were you able to speak with the new attorney at length prior to the hearing? Did the firm just sub someone in at the last moment?
I like Ann's idea of contacting a Women's Advocacy group and speaking with their legal counsel there. I would hope that they have vastly more experience in representing women whose husbands are addicted.
Sending many good wishes and prayers!

Oh, yes, I had two one-hour sessions with him before court and gave him all of the paperwork and facts.
I just can't see myself spending more money on attorneys. If they can't take the time to learn the facts of my case, how can they argue effectively?
My ex is a shameless liar. They need to be able to call him out on these lies.
So now I have to wait for trial so I can hire an expert toxicologist to explain the results of his drug tests- that they couldn't possibly be caused by sudafed, as he's claiming. Or vape pens. Or by the drug tester being in cahoots with my boyfriend (how can anyone take him seriously at this point!) And I have to pay this dang expert a sh!t ton of money to appear.
BS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Lord! Friend, I cannot even imagine. I think you need to find a heavy hitting attorney WITH A KNOWN REPUTATION to go after this type of behavior. Also one who knows about if there is a possibility of getting a new judge assigned? I also like the Womens Advocate idea. Question, what if you call the school counselor and tell them what happened and ask them to report him to CPS? They are mandated reporters. Just a thought.
Sending prayers to you and your children.

i too think getting the school involved is wise......so it's not just YOU that he sees attacking him (or whatever it is that goes on his head).
do the children have a GAD? i know there is always a risk, but an impartial third party that is tasked with what is best for CHILDREN should have some sway??
