2month update....he's doing well so far
My friend is doing well right now but I feel its because he won his ex-fiancee back and are in a relationship but not living together yet.
I'm happy for him but also concerned if things don't end up working out that he may go back to the hardcore drugs he was using after they broke up. During their relationship the 1st time around, he battled painkiller addiction and also drank regularly along with smoking pot.
I think they may be co-dependent on each other. She's a functioning alcoholic and he's using her to replace the drugs he once used. Love and drugs can't be used at the same time. It's either one or the other

I am glad he is doing well, and pray his sobriety continues.
Why he used, who to blame? These are futile questions that solve nothing, it is better for him to find support for staying sober, in the end, that's what matters most and may save his life.
Hugs

I don't plan to be best buddies with them but be friends with them from a distance. We still talk here and there but nothing like in the past when we got together socializing every weekend
