Hi Legna, my psych did say the same thing to me when i was in my first week of recovery and was in an absolute mess. I wanted to enquire about my family's history with mental illness and he said it's perhaps better to not make any drastic decisions for the meantime.

The more I think about it the more I think I don't really want to get involved, so the best I could do is report anonymously. I think I'll take yours and my psych's advice and just leave it for a while.
