A grateful Mom here

Tomorrow will mark the one year anniversary that my 23 year old son found the courage and strength to turn his life around by entering rehab and working his recovery from heroin. I am so thankful for all the angels here on earth and in heaven who helped him to get on this path. I am also so grateful for the people here on SR who have given me strength and wisdom from their posts to get through this very difficult year. My prayer every night and forever are for those struggling with addiction and their loved ones. I realize it will always be just one step at a time, one day at a time. Today I am ever so grateful.

Thank you for sharing your gratitude, allthatsgood! Such good news to hear that your son continues to do well. Hearing about recovery brings hope to all of the mothers who are still dealing with actively addicted adult children.

There is no doubt that they can recover when they're good and ready.....

gentle hugs

Ke - your statement is so true. There was many attempts at recovery for my son long before last year. Bottom line was he was no ready.

Im so happy for your son, and your whole family. Your son worked very hard to accomplish this, and I agree angels were also watching over. And, they still are... Thanks for sharing with us.

What a wonderful anniversary to share with us on SR. I am so grateful for your son's recovery work. I agree that there are certainly angels on earth and in heaven ready to help when they are ready for the help...
