NA Football Party!!
NA Football Party!!
So my husband had some of his NA buddies over today to watch football. They all have some long recovery time, all professionals and truly nice, caring people. They cleaned up after themselves and of course - their was no drinking - so no drunken idiots walking around or trying to drive home. In fact, one of the guys was my neighbor's boss for years.
These guys really seem to care about each other. They really care about my husband, his recovery and seem to have a genuine concern for me as well. They can laugh at themselves and talk openly about their addiction and recovery.
No matter what happens between me and my husband, I am happy he found some good, caring friends.
I really wish my Alanon group had more of a fellowship - like these guys do!

I hear you. My husband seems to have a lot of NA friends too. I've started attending an al anon, but it seems that the core group has been meeting for over a decade together. I would love to join a group that has a group of women in a similar situation to myself too. But I am trying to accept the people God might bringing into my life will have purpose.
