Hope you got a good rest!!!!!

Nina is correct, it is really great that he has been assigned a Hospitalist! I have had
the sane one both times I was admitted earlier this year. They are actually part of
the hospital and they oversee everything that is going on with the patient. If they
think certain tests need to be run or have been advised by a specialist they write
the orders.

Both times I was in this year I had Dr. Gomez and she is just wonderful!!!! She,
of course, kept my primary care physician informed about everything going on
with me, but it was she whom I saw several times a day.

It's anew level of care that some hospitals are instituting and it does mean the
patient gets really awesome care. I am very happy that your son has been
moved to that ward. Now if he will only listen, lol

Sending more healing thoughts and prayers.

Love and hugs,

I agree--Hospitalists are a very good thing, except when you are there long enough and get attached, as I did with my daughter's!

I really hope you got some good rest, Washbe2. I am holding you in my heart and prayers. Hanging in there is about all we mommas can do some days.

Thanks, friends. I am anxious to meet the hospitalist and hope it is someone my son can relate to. He is such a rough customer.

I didn't go back today- slept till 2:00. Hospital is hour and half away. I will go tomorrow to visit my mom, who is in rehab from knee replacement, and on to spend the afternoon with my son.

I've only spoken with him briefly today, and he kept falling asleep, but said the doctor mentioned this morning that he has a heart murmur, which isn't new, but also a leaking heart valve. Not too sure what that means. The doctor also told him they do not know what kind of infection this is - that they have looked at it for four days now, and it could be something new. Hope they keep him a long time.

Washbe,
I'm so glad that you were able to get some rest. Sounds like you do have a healthy frame of mind while dealing with this. That'll make all the difference for you to stay healthy. Sounds like you've got your hands full with your Mom being in a hospital too. Maybe they'll both get well soon & then you can get some real rest & relaxation. ************{HUGS}}}}}}}}

Sending prayers, washbe. How I hope your son will be cared for there now for a nice long time so you know he's safe and you can rest and relax! I think you have the patience of a saint. Praying for your mom, too.

Blessings to you, and peace.

Visited son and mom in hospitals yesterday. Mom is doing amazingly well with he "new" knee.My son seemed to be better and I could see healing on his wounds. Performing a cardiogram on heart tomorrow. Good news is spinal cord infection of staph is clear. However, there is a baterial infection in his bloodstream and they have no idea what it is or what caused it, so they don't know how to treat it.

He is still on mega pain meds which I believe mask some of his symptoms. He says that's what the meds are supposed to do, but he does still have pain. Time will tell. It's out of my hands. Getting a little too attached to his little dog though! Such a good, good dog. He makes me smile.

Keeping you both in my prayers, Washbe. That's good news about your mom, it's amazing how they can put in new knees and hips these days, who knew we had replaceable parts?

Have just returned from where you are

RGF was in the hospital for an infection in her bloodstream and lungs - turns out it was MRSA. She had the whole heart work up too, as they were afraid it was growing on her heart valves. (IV drug user)

She is now okay after a 6 week hospital stay and heavy course of IV antibiotics. PM me if you want to talk -

You and he will get through this. Make sure to take time for yourself everyday - even just 20 minutes of peace - it will keep you sane. I made sure I took my (then) new puppy to the dog park every day, for at least an hour. It was truly the best therapy for me.

-TP

hugs...

What is it about those furry little bundles of joy that keep us going? Truly they are such sweet relief from all the emotional trauma. So simple and loving. Dear washbe2: sending my prayers for you and your son & momma. There will be brighter days ahead. 70X7

Even if you don't have a dog, but love them, dog parks are great therapy

"Dogs are our link to paradise. They don't know evil or jealously or discontent. To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring - it was peace" ~Milan Kundera

“Petting, scratching, and cuddling a dog could be as soothing to the mind and heart as deep meditation and almost as good for the soul as prayer.”
― Dean Koontz, False Memory
