Ok! I'm making progress
Ok! I'm making progress
Yippee, made it through the night without one wimper! Today is going well.
Breakfast, lunch, now napping! I think I'm catching on to this motherhood thing again! However, this time around I know how to be firm and say what I mean, and mean what I say.
Trinity is doing well. When she has her temper tantrums, which are getting fewer, I just tell her to go to her room, and please come out when she is feeling better. She does, has herself a hissy-fit, then comes out smiling!
It is so difficult for me to ignore the yelling!! Mr. Dev, says just humm!!!
Mom called last night to argue with me. Too funny, if she only knew how much practice I've had with drug users, she wouldn't bother. I'll bet she's still yelling and doesn't know I hung up after the first dirty word! LOL
Ok, moving forward. Oh, good news, lost 7 pounds since last Saturday!
Hugs, Devastated

Awwwww, what a precious little angel.
Dev, I have a feeling that this angel will melt your heart, and
that she'll be the one training you,
I have a feeling Mr. Dev is keeping a close eye on both of you.
Who knew that motherhood would come easier when we are in the autumn of our years?
Big Hugs for you, and for Mr. Dev from that foxy Canadian, and for the sweet angel Trinity from her Auntie Ann.

Oh, Dev you make me miss my gramma so much.
I remember when I stayed with my grandparents while my parents were away. If I pitched a fit, they responded much the same way you have with your little love.
I actually remember one particulary awful spell I had about not wanting to eat any vegetables and tossing my plate to the floor. Gramma sent me to my room until I got my act together, but she made sure to tell me she loved me and hoped I came back soon. I barely made it to my bedroom door before I couldn't stand being away from her any longer and ran back to the kitchen. She had even made up a new plate for me got me giggling at the table so much so that I didn't even realize I had eaten all my veggies.
In my early teens she was so very ill and I spent many hours at her bedside making up stories with her and talking about our times together. I must have told her a dozen times how I remembered her smile when I came back into the kitchen that evening.
I still have an aversion to veggies sometimes, but I think of her and smile and they go down a lot easier.
Grammas just know how to make everything in a little kid's life right again.
...ok I need a tissue.
Thanks for posting Dev!

Hi Auntie Ann, Trinity is asking to visit you! LOL It would be so fun for you. Oh thank goodness these are just the autumn years I was really worried that these were the "golden years!" Whew, now I still have something to look forward to.
If you'll look real close to the baby in the bubbles, you'll see that little horn popping through! LOL
Ok, going to watch Snow White now.
Hugs, Devastated

Oh lordy, I would never in my dreams have guessed that I would hear our Dev say those words. Really, I am laughing so hard I am crying just picturing Dev. explaining how she is just sleeping, lol, and that no "Dopey" is NOT an addict.
Thanks Dev, I will treasure this moment.
I think you have her number, Dev...Wow! Great progress.Isn't it amazing how kids just seem to want a little stability and structure in their lives?
She is truly precious and I bet she adores being with Nana and Papa Dev

TRINITY PROGRESS REPORT:
Now is telling me when she has to go potty! YIPEE!! The moment I found out it cost like $20.00 for pull ups, was the moment I decided she's wayyy too old for them!
She eats like there is no tomorrow. She is very tidy, my type of gal!
She now knows there are words that are nasty like F-rt! Little girls do not say that word.
Have her on a schedule and sticking to it!
Nanna & Nonno's Progress Report:
Nanna is going to bed now at 10:00 instead of 1:00 AM.
Nonno is not the least bit affected by any change! He loves her and plays with her almost all day.
GINO & Kelsey's Progress:
Kelsey is adapting but Gino is still hiding under the bed!
Grandpa John is checking in every day.
That's it for the one week progress report.
Did I tell you that the social worker who came here 6 months ago to check the house called here, not to check on Trinity, but to get a recipe? What is that all about!!

Sounds like your making some great progress there. After 2 sons and 4 grandsons i sure wish I lived closer so I could help.....Trinity is a little doll and its a good idea that we all go to bed at 10pm. See what staying on a schedule does. The weight lose is a good thing but don't go overboard on it. You can start teaching Trinity how to bake those great desserts all kids love...Lots of luck, Bonnie
Auntie Ann:
We're working on the vocabulary trust me! You'll be very happy when you come to visit us.
Hi Greeteachday, well at least Nonno knows how to cook! LOL
Bonnie, I wish you lived closer too! Ever think about moving to Calif? Now's the time. Sure could use a baby sitter now and again.

lol - my little niece has so much trouble with her vocabulary. She has learned some terrible words from her mother - and probably her father too. Her latest thing is to call people butt-cracks when she feels scared and threatened. It's jaw dropping to listen to sometimes.
I just remind her calmly that while it's ok if if she hears those words, it's not ok to say those words. I tell her constantly how beautiful she is and that beautiful people don't talk that way.
I also tell her she can use potty words in the bathroom and then I ask her if she needs to go. :-)
