Teach, It does feel like a lifetime, doesn't it. But somehow, someway, our HP helps us to step away and concentrate on today.

If in fact it is your gall bladder, please have surgery done ASAP, you see Mr SB decided to wait and then what should have been a relatively easy surgery turned into a nightmare.

Mr SB lost his job 1 1/2 years ago, he had to take another that is NOT his field, but you do what you have to do to survive. Hopefully, you can look at your unemploy as a minor bump in the road.

Keeping both you & Trevor in my prayers.

Hugs,
Chris

SB,

I'm sorry to hear about Mr SB. I figured I would get it done asap, while I'm out of school anyway. Of course, I'll miss the interview and all the professional developments I'm required to take, but, hopefully, I'll be able to take the vacation anyway! That's not till the end of August. And the recoup time is supposed to be only about 6 weeks, so the timing is about right!

Thanks for your prayers and good wishes == all of you.
As they say, this, too, shall pass.

Shalom!

I guess I scared Elvislives off!
Sorry about that, Elvis! It really does get better! :>)

Well, I had the Hida Scan test.
I looked it up on the Mayo Clinic website prior to going, and it didn't seem so bad. And it really wasn't. The test itself was nothing. They shot my arm with some radioactive stuff and took some pics. It was kind of cool, really. I could see my liver, my gall bladder, and my intestines on the screen. The only big thing is, I have to flush twice after I go to the bathroom for 24 hours, cuz I'm eliminating radioactive waste!
(What a perfect smilie for this factoid, huh? LOL!)

Staying completely still was a problem. It took about an hour. And I have a very bad back. I've had back surgery already, and still have some back issues that surgery can't fix. They only had two small pillows to put under my knees; they were worthless. By the time I was able to move, at the end of the test, I was in tears, due to the pain in my back!

A big hospital with all this expensive radiography technology, and they didn't have one of those triangle pillows for under the knee! Unbelievable! How many people have bad backs!

Anyway, I went to the beach with my sister and my son afterwards, and had a lobster salad sandwich! Walking around made my back feel much better soon enough, thank goodness!

So, if anyone else ever has to have a Hida Scan, you'll know what it's like.
You just may want to bring your own knee pillow, though!

Shalom!

Ok, I did something stupid.
I looked up the Hida Scan image results and their meanings on the net....
Please say a lil prayer for me.

This is what I saw on the screen during the test, during the last 5 -10 minutes or so:
http://www.nuclearmd.com/Hepatobiliary_Scans.pdf
When I was in the test, I didn't understand it what I was seeing. All the stuff I had seen before - the liver, gall bladder and intestines - disappeared. And that blob appeared.
I found these scan results on the net, and researched what this set means last night. And I'm scared.

My doc won't get the results until tomorrow. He'll call me then, I know.
It doesn't look good, from what I could gather.
So, I'd appreciate any good will you could send out.

Shalom!

I'm saying a prayer for you. Did you get the results back yet? I'm sorry you're having problems with the job & the son, but at least you have a wonderful vacation planned! The job situation is difficult. My recovering ABF is having trouble finding a job, and I'm working in a lower paying job. I used to be a teacher, but am trying for a different field. I hope all looks for for you soon and that you'll be able to take your vacation. Take care!

Thanks, bluebelle!
The test results were good. All's normal, so, they're sending me to a stomach doctor now!
Worst fears were alleviated, though, so, that's good!

Job planning is a beach, if you catch my drift.
Son has to find his own way.

And my vacation -- well -- I'm taking it come hell or high water!

All's well, in the end. Faith will see me through, as it always does.
I just have to remember that, (when I forget it! LOL!)

Shalom!

Teach,

Did I hear someone say ..... SCARLETT???? Oh my, we oldtimers are showing up at the same time, I do believe.

First, so glad your test results were good. Thank you, HP.

And sorry to hear about Trevor, but am so proud of you and your recovery. You certainly are oozing with recovery, showing the "live and let live" philosophy recovery teaches us.

Even though neither one of us are here very much lately (life does get in the way of posting regularly), I continue to keep you and Trevor in my prayers.
You are a wonderful example for newcomers here and for Trevor. You remind me of a friend of mine in who is a "double winner". She said when she was out there in her active addiction and she drug (no pun intended) herself up on her dad's doorstep, he lovingly told her "You can't live here." She said it was then that she finally got it...that she needed to start doing what she needed to do to be a responsible, grown up.

We never know when the light will come on for our loved ones, but in the meantime we still have to practice our program. I'm so proud you for doing that and continuing to make choices for your life so that you will have good, enjoyable days.

Praying that the perfect job comes along soon!

Love,
Hangin' In

Teach, I'm so happy that your tests came out good and your worst fears alleviated. Now we wait for what they decide about your stomach and hope that everything comes out good there too.

Nina,
One thing for sure, I will *not* play doctor on the internet again! LOL!
I'll leave that job up to my own doctor. That's why I pay him. And he's *much* better at it than I am!
So, I won't get worried this time. I will leave this up to G*D too.

Hangin'!
How are ya gal!
So good to see you here! You know, I thought of you when I posted that quote from Scarlet, lol!

G*D is good. Hopefully, this too will pass, and it will be one more blip on the screen of my life. As for the job, well, I have my home, and I can sell it and move south if I have to do so. I will survive. G*D will see me through. Maybe this will be the kick in the pants to do what I've talked about for - oh - how many years now? With my mom and dad now gone, there's no reason to stick around here!

I'm on my way to my neice's shower now. Good seeing you Nina and Hangin'!

Shalom!

Thank you!!!!
This really is a great relief to me.
I'm getting some work done on my house;
Preparing it for sale.
If this market ever turns! LOL!
And of course, not having a job really put me in a bad place.

But, G*D is good.
And the stress only took about 10 years off my life!
(kiddin')
So, I start my professional developments this week. (required)
And in August, will go to San Miguel, in the Azores.
Then, back to the kiddies.

I just hope that I go back to the same school.
I really liked it there.
But, I'm happy to have a job anywhere, honestly!
(But, NOT at that place I was at for three years;
With the principal from HELL!
some of you will remember! YIKES!)

Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart!

Shalom!
