Martin Sheen on son's addiction...
A dear friend just brought me a magazine article from AARP about Martin Sheen's experience in dealing with his son Charlie's drug addiction. It really gave me a boost today.
Hesaid, "You're dealing with a life-and-death situation. And the critical part of the equation is: are you willing to risk your child's wrath? They are not going to like you. Don't even think about them loving you. They're going to call you the most vicious, obscene names. You have to be prepared for that."
That quote helped me so much today cause I'm feeling kind of low. Check out the whole interview on AARP on line. It really is a good article.

Dear Friend,
stay strong
I recently attended a milestone anniversary for my RAS and during his speech he thanked us for all we've done....
there was a time when he wasn't so grateful (especially when i was dropping him off at a shelter!!)
there is no easy way to get through this but you are not alone.....
