Haven't been here in awhile
But I see all my old friends. Are we doomed to this life forever? Asked my son for a statement for here and he said "it sucks". Duh!
I think we are a group of people that have universal missions to deal with. Most thru our addicts..some inspired by our addicts.

Welcome back, Barb. We don't have to be "doomed", I know I'm not, even though my son is still lost in his addiction. I'm grateful today for the light on my path but it wasn't always that way, as you know.
Come sit a spell and grab yourself some serenity, it's free and we always have more than enough seats.

I'm with Ann. I am not going to live a doomed life. No, everyone around me is not doing what I want. But I've learned I don't have to let their choices ruin my life. As my husband says, "No use in their being two tragedies."
I agree. My HP has promised me an abundant life, and I'll be darned if I'm not going to go after it. After all, I ain't getting any younger....

Welcome back Barb,
We are here to walk this journey together. I am here for support and to give it when I can. Our lives are changed forever from this disease, I know it has helped me in alot of ways. It made me stronger, and more caring to others who are going through hard times. I don't feel doomed but feel blessed that I had to go through this. I know that sounds crazy but it is making me a better person.
Keep coming back we are here to walk with you not to judge you. We are a family here who really cares for one another.

I joined in 2003 by stumbling around on the net. It was sooooo good to post and reply. To find people to chat to in the middle of the night was amazingly good and from all over the world too! Lots of venting by me. I drifted away thou and thought of this place everynow and then.
Now back looking for companionship. I will post a specific topic soon.
