My exabf never referred to me as "Dude" although I began to wonder if my name had somehow changed from "Kris" to "Fing B!#ch".

the first time I met my XABF I was appalled at his language. Every other word was f**king or f**k!!!!!

I am of an age and upbringing where that word is never used by a man in mixed company. I ALMOST (can we say Codie here?) decided to never see him or email him again after that because I felt the constant "sailor" talk was very disrespectful of ME (and I have known many sailors, including my Granfather) who NEVER talked like that).

At the time I was soooooo lonely.. I had been out of my marriage for almost 2 years and I just really did not want to be lonely naymore.. so I continued to see this guy. Man.. I wish I had found SR and recovery b4 II ever met him. I didn't even know what AlAnon was back then.. did not understand recovery wasn't simply removing the alcoholic from your life...

Oh I have come a LOOOONG way Baby..
and I really donot like the word f**k or f**king!

I often wonder if I would be here if I ever called my father "Dude" or even said the "f" word in front of him!

OOoooohhh... that one hits home with me!

Son calls me "Dude" when he doesn't like what he's hearing.

Daughter uses "Dude" - but only with her former friends (druggies).

Until I read your post, I didn't realize how much it triggers me... I got upset just reading!
