Smile So proud of ras

Just wanted to share a positive bit about ras's progress...

Last Wednesday, one of the ladies ras met in rehab got out, and had nowhere to go. Ras and my parents immediately offered her my old room for a few days, supposedly just until she could find something else. Last night, ras walked in on this woman relapsing, or at least she saw the aftermath of it. Did she use that as an "excuse" to relapse herself? No! She actually had the strength to tell this woman that she was not to come back to the house, that ras would make arrangements with a mutual friend for her belongings to be picked up, but that she could not come back to ras's home.

I know it has got to be hard for her to watch the people she spent 24/7 for a month with to not succeed like she has so far. I am just so glad that she has the strength to keep going regardless of what her new friends do. And don't get me wrong, I know that she still has a long, hard road ahead, and she is not out of the clear yet, but she has already surpassed my predictions.

That had to be tough for her - especially if she found her using in your parents' home. Good that that she didn't take on that guilt.

Sounds like she is using the tools of recovery to take care of herself!!

Awesome.

Hopefully the girl will get back on track and maybe consider a halfway house if she has nowhere else to go. It is good that your sister is managing to stay in her recovery. Hugs and prayers coming her way. Marle

I'm sorry her friend relapsed and hope that she finds her way. Your sister's actions are commendable...glad she had the strength to deal with it in the way she did. It warms my heart to see how you are both reestablishing a loving connection. Hugs
