it is with pride that i share...
it is with pride that i share...
the reason that brought me to sr - my oldest son - my greatest pride and joy (at this moment) - is graduating from high school today...
for those of you who don't know me outside of the posts for lil guys a little history - my son was arrested for a dui in 12/06 - he then was talking to his probation officer and told him he went to a homecoming party (a probation violation) - we were sent for an evaluation - they recommended alcohol education courses - the probation officer wanted him to attend an intensive outpatient program - we did - it was the one thing that i am most grateful for - that we got to attend this program - the information, people, education were invaluable to me - in dealing with so many things in my life - and that is what led me to sober recovery - my 18 year old son...
last nite we sat outside by the fire eating s'mores and talked about stuff - the lil guys touched him more than i realized - when he was in a recovery management program the lil guys came to live with us - it was my son who said *we have to take them mom, they can't live with strangers, we're their family* - his recovery management counselor said that those lil guys made z realize so many things about himself - his determination - his window into drug addiction he never imagined (my sister abandoning those lil guys) - his moral ethic to do the right thing - i've often told people that if nothing else came from having the lil guys in my house for those 4 months the things that my children learned about family is priceless - and the talk that z and i had the nite lil guys were picked up was something i will cherish - forever...
so today that son graduates from high school - he is going on to college - living away from home and will be on his own - i think he is ready and will be ok - i love him more right now than you can imagine - and i wanted to share and thank each and everyone of you for your thoughtfulness you've shown me - your honesty - your hearts - all that you've shared so unselfishly - will continue to share with all of you because you mean so much to me - you really, really do - and today i am grateful for so many things - and each and everyone of you are on my list...
godspeed,

What wonderful words to read to begin my day. What an inspiration you, your son and the little guys are to so many of us and I too send a huge hug and you can tell your son that a crazy lady in Canada is darn proud of him today.
Hugs for all of you
Hugs for all of you
I am just so happy for you. How proud you must be!!!
Isn't it nice when we can look back at some of the pain we've endured and see the blessings that flowed from it? Doesn't your heart just overflow with love and gratitude for this special occasion? I know it does. Enjoy your special day. I'm celebrating with you in spirit,my friend.
Happy, joyous hugs!!!
