just a positive update
just a positive update
I like reading positive updates and i realized i should share a positive update.
I have been going to Face to face meetings since November of 2006. i love them. School is going well and i plan on taking summer classes. I have been working very hard on paying off all my debt and i have to say i'm halfway done
My rabf is be in rehab since the End of September and is doing very well. He has been clean since than and is really working on his program. Since he is working on his program it has been very easy for all his loved ones to work their programs. he hasn't been hom since September and everyone believe that he is making progress by leaps and bounds. we are so proud of him.
He has been interviewing this month to find himself a halfway house but he believes that some of them might be 3/4 houses and he is feeling very good about going. he has made the decision not to come home and to start his life over. everyone is behind him 100%. he is working very hard and it shows everytime we each get to talk to him.
he is more confident with himself, making great decision and is focusing on his recovery. he is taking a holistic appraoch to life and healing. My rabf has been struggle with addiction for over 12 years now. (we have been together for about 3 1/2 years) he is working the steps and taking his time. he is learning what his triggers are and is learning to be honest and responsible for the first time in his life (he will be 33yrs old in the fall)
i just wanted to let anyone know that recovery is possible and progress not perfection is the way to recovery.
work your program and keep believing in recovery.
love

thanks for the update, glad to hear that your bf is doing so well, i love to hear positive updates, i pray that he continues in his recovery. glad to hear that your are going to your meetings and i think that your plan to go back for classes is just great. keeping all of you in my prayers.
He is actually getting to the point in accepting how proud he has made us. i believe he is very proud of himself for probably the first time in a very long time.
thanks
thanks
Polly...I am always amazed that when I think about someone I haven't "seen" here in a bit, within a day I see a post. Yes, you have been on my mind and I am so happy that both you and your boyfriend are doing so well in your recovery. Meetings are great aren't they? I so look forward to Thursday nights...just love my home group.
Please keep stopping in...thank you so much for your message of hope. Hope that both the addicts we love and we can recover. Hugs

It is so important for us to share messages of hope...
it is such a hard journey we are on but knowing of the successes (miracles) helps to keep us moving forward...
I am so happy you and your rabf are doing well...
It's the small daily changes that build a recovery...
doing the next right thing and then the next right thing after that...
sounds like that is what is happening...
blessings to all of you...
thanks for sharing
