Wish me luck!
Oooh, good one, C.
Why do I keep coming back? To stay in touch with my buds (that's all of you, btw). To pass on what was passed to me. To help the newbie. To put off doing the stuff that needs doing in the house.
It's in the morning, on a BBC station with a number in it.

ACK!!!!
I just had a thought..... I wonder how many Bits we are going get new on here ... Ohhhhh scarry! *laughs just teasing*
Too funny to get out of doing housework?????
I would suggest being careful with the slang... they might not know what a newbie is

One suggestion:
Maybe refer to R as "someone I thought that had a drinking problem"
I know here on the board we all refer to them as A's but in reality - only the person with the problem themselves can say they are an alcoholic...
Only because I can see a reporter jumping all over that one.."Oh really? He's an alcoholic?" blah blah blah...

I think they chose well when they chose you, Minnie. I'm one of those people you can't shut up....until you stick a microphone in front of me. I'm sure you'll do better, and the best advice I can give you is to just be your wonderful self.

I listen to a little BBC online.

Great point, Minx. I can't believe I actually wrote "alcoholic" when I barely ever use the word. Shorthand, I guess. Nothing under the amount of about 2500 words can describe how it was, so I'll stick with "I was engaged to a heavy drinker", I think.
Feeling a bit sick now.

Minnie,
Tried to go to the site, but couldn't because of work filter - congratulations!! - I'm sure you did awesome!!
Isn't it neat the way our HP keeps moving us out of our comfort zone to help us grow in our recovery - He definitely keeps pushing me. Looks like I will be the Al-Anon speaker for a Women's Retreat (AA, Al-Anon & NA) in Houston,TX on Sept 15-17, 2006. Talk about out of my comfort zone.
Anyway, congrats again - talk about working the 12th Step!!
See ya,
Rita
