Things I like

I am doing more things that I like. Not that anyone else expects, approves of, or wants. These are things I wasnt doing alot of. Im smiling just thinking about it!

What do you all like to do? FOR YOURSELF?

Listen to music in the house, very loud.
Cook a nice dinner, that I, yes I, like
Take baths, long ones, the kind you have to add hot water to after a while
Clean
Organize my closets
Clean my car
Go for long walks
Write letters to long friends
Go to the library
Burn CD's
Read, I love to read
Crossword puzzles.
Make chilli

I love planting flowers and a garden.
I like going to the library with my kids and by myself.

Man, this is something I really need to work on. I've been realizing that I put my gf first.....before me. It's sort of not a bad thing, but I don't take care of me.

There are a few things I'm able to do for myself sometimes.

read a book
take a long, hot bath, then stay in the bathroom for a long time doing girly, beauty stuff
go to bed early and watch TV by myself

That's about it. I'd like to add a few more things to my list. Eventually I'll learn to do that. I have thins thing about hurting people's feelings so I put them first so I don't have to worry about that.

Thanks for this post -- you really got me thinking. Now I just need to do it.

I like cleaning, working in my yard, spending time with my children, spending time with my mom, cleaning my car and visiting with friends. These things help relieve alot of tension and stress for me.

If you asked me this a few months ago I would have had no idea.
I do know that I like the sun shining on my face.
I love the sound of my boys voice (even if they are fretting about something.)
I like the way I feel when I get done working out in the morning.
I like the way my hair looks right after I blow dry it...lol
I like making decisions that I know will be in my best interest.

I'm not sure right now.

Here's a start though. I like when I'm nursing my daughter and I look down at her and she's looking up at me and smiles while sucking away, LOL.

Um, I may have been a little misleading here ladies.
I like to write long letters to all my friends, Not just the
long ones.

Geez. Freudian slip?

SE, you and I should be roomies.
We like a lot of the same things.
Hot baths, cooking, reading, crosswords, music, walking.
I'll add movies, although I have to be in the right mood for them.
I especially love walking on the beach, but haven't gotten a chance to do that in a while.
I'm not real partial to organizing my closest though.
Or anything else for that matter.

ahhhhh... let me think

Reading my book outside in the sun.... preferably in a hamock
Walking on the Beach barefoot
Running away from home with my daughter
Enjoying a glass of wine with friends and laughing our bums off
Snuggling with Mr. R on the recliner and watching a good movie.
Driving in the country and seeing the snowcapped mountains with a lake below it
Snuggling on the couch with my daughter watching home videos

Cy, check this out.
It's totally portable.
It folds up and you can take it wherever you go.
I want one bad.

I wouldn't even try to organize him.
Sigmund is too busy having a field day with my dream interpretation to mess with my slips.

Been missing meetings lately... you know what I noticed?

The things I "enjoy" doing change.

Before, I would like to do things that were introspective or active... either write a journal, work on 4th step, go to a step study, or drive somewhere.

When I am low on meetings, I like to do things that fix the OUTSIDE....

Clean the closets, organize my desk, consider plastic surgery...

.... it always reminds me of that AA saying... "we make the outside look good because we believe the inside is so ugly."

And I fall right back into that if I am not watching.

At least now days, I notice.

... off to organize my pantry.
