Choose to have a bad day or good day
Wanted to share a little about the sermon from my church today.
It was titled the ABC's of emotional life.
A - Actual events (the actual things that go on - debt/alcoholic spouse/ trouble with teenager, etc.)
B- Beliefs
C - Consequences (sadness/anger/happiness)
So, the Actual events cause a Consequence.
The "B", for Beliefs - if we change our beliefs then the consequence will change. So, he asked us to try starting each day, with a prayer and ask God to be our partner "God, what do you want to do with me today?"
We all are seeking upgrades in our circumstances. New clothes/car/house, and with us codies, maybe even new spouse. But, maybe if we change our beliefs and stop seeking upgrades and start BELIEVING God is always on our side, no matter what, then the consequences may end up better for us.
Suffering is a part of life, but we can change how we handle the suffering.
I hope each of you can find the strength to believe that God is with you, even when you think he isn't, and have more peaceful consequences in your lives.

I've been thinking about how I have to believe that my higher power will take care of me, no matter what chaos is currently happening in my life.
I've also been trying to remind myself that my daughter's higher power will take care of her, too. For me, I guess this is all about step 1, where we accept that we don't have control over this disease (only our higher powers have control)
