We made it!!

Hi guys, I'm back!

Been sailing my Dad's boat from the East Coast of England round to Plymouth in the South West. Had a wonderful time with some old friends and my Dad and brother. Everyone safe and sound, despite extremes of weather.

Spent many hours watching the waves (and dolphins!) and reflecting on all that has gone on the last year. Sure puts things in perspective when you're a speck on the ocean. I realised fully for the first time that my life is what I make it. Inserting myself in other peoples' problems help neither them nor me.

I'm so glad to be back and looking forward to catching up with what's been happening.

Love

Minnie

Awesome, thanks for sharing what you learned! I'd really love to be at sea for a while staring at the view and dophines! I might just do that soon after my finances settle.

Minnie, glad to hear you had a good experience. Get caught in any rain? Know the weather is still a bit cold here in SE of England...especially on the ocean.
I took a ferry over to France last week to go shopping and it was really cold on board the P&O ferry. The winds weren't gale forced..but still noticed. Hope you got some good photos.

Cor Blimey!! It sounds like it was an exciting trip!! Rough seas would scare the poo out of me but I know what you mean re putting stuff into perspective. I used to think that when I was breaking horses, being aware of another animal so powerful and the timeless nature of the job I was doing, for all those thousands of years there were people about to ride an unbroken horse, feeling the same nerves, knowing their job but not their future, physically attaching their future to something more powerful, trusting skill and luck!! It always made me feel a part of something timeless - and really happy to even be a tiny, weeny, 'ickle part of it.

Thanks for all the "welcome back" messages.

Bluester - yes, we had a lot of wind and rain on Sunday. We were sailing from Cowes to Dartmouth and the rain was horizontal at times - like needles! It was a bit hairy trying to get into Dartmouth at midnight when the visibility was down to abput 50 yards. Thank god for GPS!! That was the day we saw the dolphins - Mum, Dad and baby. They stayed with us for about half an hour, just playing around the boat and riding the pressue wave. We saw lots of porpoises too, but they didn't come as close. We could have touched the dolphins (if the water wasn't so bloody cold!).

I'll post some piccies when I've got them sorted. My bro has got some cool video from his mobile too.
