I had to travel last night for a work thingy. A man started chatting to me while we were waiting, and he had a joke about whether he would get upgraded to business class. He gets a family bonus as his daughter works for the airline. He was a very modest man and was secretly excited about the prospect, but i also sensed his great pride in his daughter. We said our goodbyes as we boarded.
on the plane, another passenger offered to put my coat in the overhead locker.
then as i was walking out to collect my bag, man 1 catches me up, apologies for the joke about business class and slips a chocolate into my hand. We chatted while the bags arrived, then shook hands and went our separate ways, wishing each other a lovely weekend with our respective family catch ups.
Genuine, normal, caring human interaction.
What is so sad is that I have forgotten what it is like.
THIS IS WHAT IT SHOULD BE LIKE!!!
There are people out there who uplift you, expecting nothing in return.
Im gonna smile at everyone today. Will ket you know how it goes.😀

I'm sure it's the same everywhere, but Aussie men can be very kind. I bought something in a very large box the other day and was standing at the back of my car working out how to load it and 2 guys were by my side in moments, helping me.

Yes! I remember when this clicked in my head too. It's like these normal, kind things make you look at your own life and realize it's not happening inside your own relationships. It's an eye opener for sure.

I'm glad you ran into a normal, caring human being. They are out there. When you do meet one, it can uplift you day. I try and be kind to everyone I meet. I was brought up that way. In today's society of me, me, me. People usually put themselves first and everyone else is second. Just keep smiling and you will at least make one other persons day happier.

Thanks Mango. I have wonderful interactions with people at work daily. I am very lucky in that regard. And Kindness is a value I'm trying to instill in my kids, and I see that coming out frequently.
