Children are pretty resilient, if you have to change to a different neighborhood. They might be under more stress living with your husband than you realize. And, as all of us know, it only gets worse with time.

Agree with all of this - kids are resilient. We moved every 3 years with 2 kids one on the spectrum and they both gained life long skills from these moves, myself included. Personally I think living with an active alcoholic father is much harder to deal with than learning to make new friends or learn a new routine. You also can’t discount that your boys may feel your anxiety and might be taking that on. (Ps- all learned the HARD WAY on my part)
