No, I never have. I'm not someone who is, I believe, hypnotizable. That is key to using that as part of therapy.

I tried it when I wanted to drink moderately (now abstain). It wasn't effective, but I don't think the hypnotist was very good, or did his homework.

Although I have never done it, I believe it to be a very valuable
tool if done with a competent therapist who is experienced.

I did not do hypnosis in therapy, but I took a class for childbirth that used hypnosis to experience birth without medication. And it worked. I now believe in it fully (as long as you practice daily).

Paradoxical wisdom.

>>> To accomplish more, I take breaks, relax, meditate.

>>> To clean and freshen my life and home, things can become a more jumbled mess as the process naturally evolves.

>>> Rigorous honesty with myself, God and another person allows me space to let go of principles that can become obstacles.

>>> Opening myself to the possibility of hypnosis gives me greater freedom to choose other types of therapies. Grounding, law of attraction, imagination development, cross crawling, mindfulness and heart-centered breathing are some of my current favorites.

>>> Recovering alcoholics are some of my best mentors in healing. I'm grateful for my Al-anon sponsor in teaching me this.

"Imagination development"...in the hypnosis work I did, much of it WAS seeing, in your mind's eye, the experience you decided on/wanted to occur. And experiencing that feeling, literally training your mind. Experienced similar visualization type therapy in another program, long time ago (where you become a child in the forest, and meet yourself at a young age, and decide what you would say to the child you come across). THAT was pretty powerful.
