My AH moved out about three weeks ago. Yesterday was my birthday. I asked him a few days ago if he would like to join the girls and me for my birthday dinner.

We all went out to dinner and had a great time. He was drinking but not drunk. I am willing to maintain a friendly relationship as long as he is willing to do the same. I think that it is so much easier for all of us if we can deal with each other in a civil way.

I have all my boundaries in place and know that I will do whatever I need to do to protect my personal peace.

I have no intention of living with my H again - whether he is drinking or not. It has been possible for me to let go of the anger and the resentment. It is possible for me to have a relationship with him while, at the same time, maintaining my dignity and self-respect. I can deal with him and his problems in a way that does not negatively affect my life.

For all of this and for my friends here at SR, I am truly blessed.

I want to put up billboards, go on Oprah, buy a full-page ad in the paper. I want every woman out there who is suffering and sad and confused to know that there is a way out - whether you stay with your A or not.

I see my old self in every post by every new person. I just want everyone here to believe. I want everyone here to try and keep on trying. Don't give up. It does work if you work it.
