THANK YOU. I have been feeling guilty about this for years. We never really even talked about it like adults. I think I apologized and she might have too, but I viewed it as seriously compromising her safety by leaving her alone- as a female. What if something happened? I get this is the detaching part of codependency- don't enable and let them fall down. Many people told me what you said, so i have to continue with that mindset granted I don't even want to place myself in these types of situations anymore.
