Kboys, would your kids mind keeping an eye on my "kids" for a while? I have to duck out for a bit but will be back later.
(Sigh) hate to miss the dance party, not that I'm a good dancer or anything...
Later, folks!

Later, folks!
I'm down for the electric slide dandy! I might need to be reminded of the steps...
Thanks anvil... Yes, we are a cheese loving family
I will absolutely keep an eye on your kids honeypig... The boys and I might take them out in the water again if we get tired of dancing.
This is a blast!!!

I need to tend to dinner for a little while, folks. There are plenty of snacks and games
Just keep the music going!
Anyone come back yet from the venues downtown? Report in
Dinner will be a roast with potatoes and carrots, tossed salad, and crusty, whole-grained french bread. Dessert is a four-layer red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting...
Yes, cheese...which I am defending with my salad tongs!
And, who can forget:

Come on...you knew it was going to happen!

HAHA! You guys are funny!
We're heading to church this afternoon and then coming home for a game night with the kids. I made chicken noodle soup for dinner already.
BF and I didn't sleep well last night with a storm coming into town that makes his RA flare up and my sinuses start up.......sooooo, I doubt we'll stay up very late. The kids will probably make it later than us this year.
Have fun, you crazy kids here!

I once had "La Isla Bonita" stuck in my head for months!
So, has everyone had enough to eat? The roast turned out beautifully, if I do say so myself, and I made sure Anvil didn't like the cream cheese frosting off the cake.
I had to run out for a bit, too, because one of the shuttles broke down...but we're all operational now!
So, in case I forgot to mention it, there is a skating rink downtown if anyone cares to go skating

The candles floating on the pond look beautiful!!!
I've brought some chairs out near the edge of the pond. There is hot chocolate, blankets, and candlelight all around. There is an extra sound system outdoors, so the music can continue.
Does anyone have a passage from a book they'd like to read to us? I love it when someone reads aloud!

Fave passage from the AA Big Book, suitable to anyone who works the 12 steps:
If we are painstaking about this phase of our development, we will be amazed before we are half way through. We are going to know a new freedom and a new happiness. We will not regret the past nor wish to shut the door on it. We will comprehend the word serenity and we will know peace. No matter how far down the scale we have gone, we will see how our experience can benefit others. That feeling of uselessness and self pity will disappear. We will lose interest in selfish things and gain interest in our fellows. Self-seeking will slip away. Our whole attitude and outlook upon life will change. Fear of people and of economic insecurity will leave us. We will intuitively know how to handle situations which used to baffle us. We will suddenly realize that God is doing for us what we could not do for ourselves.
Are these extravagant promises? We think not. They are being fulfilled among us—sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly. They will always materialize if we work for them.

Everything was fabulous... We had a wonderful time. I think my guys are getting cranky, I better get them home while they're still behaving and before we have any meltdowns!
I think I'm going to be sore tomorrow from all the dancing!
Thanks again all!

This poem helped me a lot this past year...John Henry Newman.
Lead Kindly Light
"Lead, Kindly Light, amidst th'encircling gloom,
Lead Thou me on!
The night is dark, and I am far from home,
Lead Thou me on!
Keep Thou my feet; I do not ask to see
The distant scene; one step enough for me.
I was not ever thus, nor prayed that Thou
Shouldst lead me on;
I loved to choose and see my path; but now
Lead Thou me on!
I loved the garish day, and, spite of fears,
Pride ruled my will. Remember not past years!
So long Thy power hath blest me, sure it still
Will lead me on.
O'er moor and fen, o'er crag and torrent, till
The night is gone,
And with the morn those angel faces smile,
Which I have loved long since, and lost awhile!
Meantime, along the narrow rugged path,
Thyself hast trod,
Lead, Saviour, lead me home in childlike faith,
Home to my God.
To rest forever after earthly strife
In the calm light of everlasting life."
