You can't put a price on peace and happiness-even more so for your little one....but for $300/mo I would jump at it-sounds lovely!! I'm excited for you!

My suggestion is to go back and look at it ALONE. If your son doesn't want to go see it, making him go might make him feel he has to make an adult decision. He trusts you. If you come and talk about it as an exciting thing, it will be contagious. At that age, his opinion really doesn't count--you're the grownup.

My rent went up $350 a month when I left XABF. TOTALLY WORTH IT!! I cut out cable - I don't really watch TV much anyway, I moved closer to my work and save on gas, and now I've quit smoking. Between the 3, that makes it up right there.

Love the feedback.

Lexie - thank you for putting it in that perspective. I am going to ask DS if he wants to look at the place with mommy in a very light way (no pressure). The reason he has not wanted to go to look is so he can play on his iPad on YouTube and Video Games or to visit with my niece and play. I don't think it is stressing him out, the thought of moving.

However, I do appreciate the insight. I am the parent, and I have to make the decision. I completely agree that I should make the decision and not ask in the manner of 'is this OK with you'. More or less, "this is going to be our new home, isn't it GREAT!!"

So, I am going to try to get the apartment. I officially apply for it tomorrow. I am going to go back and look one more time tonight. Just to see it and get more excited about it.

I am NOT excited about packing at all. Gosh, I hate that part about moving. I am going to get going on it as soon as it is officially mine. Keep myself busy, planning/organizing, etc.

I feel at peace with the decision. Thanks to everyone for the support.

Packing is a whole lot less onerous when you're moving to a place you're gonna love!

I'm excited for you.
