Short update
so my DD who didn't want me at her sober anniversary celebration calls me the day before crying and sniveling and apologizing. I just said " I know you. I knew you'd be ok once you thought it through" she was having what she called a quarter life crisis. Sigh.
So I went to the celebration which was very nice. I got to meet her sponsor who I was relived to see was a woman in her 60's with 25+ years under her belt. It was moving to see all of the loved she was surrounded by. People got up and spoke about her reaching out to them when they were new and how encouraging she was. I couldn't have been prouder!
She's even baked a batch of mighty fine cupcakes from scratch for the group. She gets that from me! Lol! (pats self on back).
All we can do is love them. I thank God everyday that I got her back. I've gone to funerals for 4 all under 30 from overdose in the past 8 years. But for the grace of God, it could have been my DD. Lord knows she drives me crazy. I'll take that over the alternative.
