Hadn't really put that together until seeing the definition up top include isolating. Not a drinker, either. Violent, crazy BPD.

exA did it too. So did a passive-aggressive (non-A) long-time boyfriend. Makes you question yourself and reality, definitely.

My xabf would only apply gaslighting techniques when his alcoholic/addict best buddy was in town. One of them would accuse me of saying something about their drinking that I absolutely DID NOT say and then the other would back the first one up. Tag team gaslighting.

I remember sitting and staring at them in disbelief, thinking, "Do you really effing think I believe the crap you are concocting right now?" It was unbelievable. All in an attempt to paint a picture of me being difficult so that they had an excuse to go drink somewhere. My xabf became a different creature when his slimy buddy came to town. It spoke volumes. Was one of the things that made me step off the roller coaster forever.
