Just wanted to say 'thank you!' x
I have been reading here for a few weeks now but not posted. However, tonight i feel the desire to do just that as at times I am overwhelmed with what I read and tonight is no exception...
I am overwhelmed by the sadness that so many of us have had to endure in the name of 'love'.
I am overwhelmed that there are so many of us!
I am overwhelmed that there are so many lost souls in the world who self medicate to numb their pain.
I am overwhelmed that so many stories share such a common ground in the path of addiction.
I am overwhelmed at the never ending helpful information and advice available for us all.
I am overwhelmed at the terminology used to describe us, particularly 'co-dependancy' and how knowledge of this personality trait helps us to heal.
BUT I am overwhelmed at how often 'co-dependancy' is used to describe so many beautiful, kind and caring souls whose only crime is to love their addict.
And finally, I am overwhelmed at the love, kindness, compassion and support that is given so freely on this sight by so many wonderful people!
The spirit of mankind is alive and kicking right here on SR and I for one am so very grateful to have found it and be able to share in it!
We may be 'co-dependent' but for me personally I am glad that there are so many of us selfless, caring and nurturing people in the world, it makes it a better place to live in!

April...welcome! What a lovely post.
I agree with everything you said. I also agree that SR is a great place. I gain amazing support here and hope I pay it forward in some small way.
It is tragic what brings us all together, but wonderful we have a place to come!
Keep posting April!!!
