I finished it!
After 5 months I finally finished my fourth step. What a relief. I have really learned a lot about myself. I realize now that I am not a victim. I played that role for most of my life. Martyrdom isn't all that. My inventory has given me a new outlook on my role in all that has happened, and a new vision for what I want for myself. I understand the phrase,"Life is 10% what happens to you, and 90% how you perceive it." I still have a long way to go, but this is a milestone in my recovery, and I am going to celebrate it. Life is good. Recovery is great. The effort and the struggle to change myself has made such a difference. I am looking forward to what else this process has to bring. Hugs, Magic

Way to go, Magic!!! That is so awesome (Yeah- I still haven't completed a step 4, I'm a procrastinator big time, lol!). I've missed your insight, nice to hear from you again!

Thanks for all the support. This weekend I plan to go to a quiet place (preferrably outdoors) and share my 5th step with God. I have never felt this good about myself, my life, and my part in it. The past is gone and the future is hopeful. Hugs, Magic

The 4th Step can be very difficult but isn't it freeing?? Once we have a solid 1, 2 and 3, the 4th step is, I believe, where we start making changes and learn to live again.
Welcome to life!!!

Ann,
Trusting God as I understand Him has been so freeing. It has let me take an honest look at my life without condemnation. I am excited about what is ahead, and I can accept and love what I am today. This is due to the help and love of my group, my sponsor, and the wonderful people here. Gratitude overflowing! Magic
