I finally heard from him today. He's trying to sort out what he's going to do, private or wait for medicare funded rehab (that makes me nervous on his behalf, but I understand not everyone has access to the funds, particularly an alcoholic who just got fired).

I am not mistaking love for need, if I was young and inexperienced, ok, but this isn't my first rodeo. When things were good, they were excellent, similarities in personality, humor, etc etc, along with, except for the selfish alcoholic behavior that has taken over since his dad's death, he has been kins and sweet and protective...it wasn't only me taking care of him. I do know the difference.

We will see each other soon. But I really don't know where it goes from this point. Most important is that he works on himself, and I'll do the same.
