I love them all !
"cowardly dogs, ye will not aid me then"- P.B.Shelley...I put a spin on this--Life is not for the faint of heart. Neither is living with an alcoholic!
Shelley's is the original...reading my post I want to clarify that in no way am I implying anyone a coward...only recognizing fear within myself...
Which leads me to "there is nothing to fear but fear itself"...now I don't remember who, I always cite my source, but who can tell me who said that without cheating and looking it up on the net?
Kind of a "name that quote" game.

"say what you mean, mean what you say, but don't say it mean"
"no matter what me & my HP are going to be OK, even better than OK"
"just because someone says it, doesn't make it true"
"let the understanding, peace, and love of the program, grow in you One Day at a Time"
and of course my favorite
PINK HUGS! (hope, unity, gratitude & serenity)

Some of my favorites:
"When you see a worthy man, endeavor to emulate him. When you see an unworthy man look inside yourself."
Confucius
"It ain't what a man knows that get him into trouble. It's what he thinks he knows, but just ain't so."
Will Rogers.
People tend to live up to, or down to, our own expectations.
Anon.
"When there are only two people in an elevator and one farts, it is difficult for the one who did it to convince the other they did it did. Some are fool enough to try. Some are fools who try to prove they did not, and give them credence."

I have been wracking my brain trying to come up with a good codie quote but I can't think of any. So, I'll make one up.
I'm a ******* codependent and I ******* hate it. -L2L
How's that?

If a girl/guy understands your ********, sticks through your mistakes, smiles even when you have done nothing, its obvious she/he is a KEEPER...but its also obvious that YOU DON'T DESERVE HER/HIM. (again not sure whose quote this is)
I think this one has done the most for improving my interactions with others and for helping me 'let go' of all sorts of outcomes and my drive to fix the world. I think my relationships have improved and I know I feel much less stress.
If I say it without being asked; it is meddling.
If I say it twice; it's manipulation.
I found it here at SR but not sure who said it first.

I had to go get my journal. The alternative would have been to haul the computer to the refrigerator or vice versa, because my fridge is my inspiration center. (You can also tell that by looking at my shape. Round. )
So here are a few of mine -- many, many of them are from SR:
"Never compare your insides to somebody else's outsides"
"When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves." (Viktor Frankl)
"Confusion is mostly the result of magical thinking. Reality is not very confusing at all." (LaTeeDa)
"Nobody ever died from being uncomfortable"
"Live is too short to stress yourself with people who don't even deserve to be an issue in your life."
"It won't always feel this way. Just go about your business." (I think that's Barb Dwyer, but I'm not sure?)
"Be like a fighter in a ring: Fight fair, but protect yourself at all times." (This was an SR member's father who used to say to her, I don't remember who)
"Change your expectations to match your reality" (Cyranoak)
"There is no such thing as a fear-free path.
In fact, often the paths leading to the greatest joy and growth
feel the most fearful.
Happily, the best things in life are waiting for you
at the exit ramp of your comfort zone." (Karen Salmansohn)
"Why are you surprised when an alcoholic acts like an alcoholic?" (Anvil? Do you claim this one?)
"What you do speaks so loudly that I cannot hear what you say" (Emerson)
"Right now -- the house is safe
your children are safe
you are safe" (Barb Dwyer)
"I love the ones who are in my life and make it amazing,
and I thank the ones who left my life and made it even more fantastic" (I think that's Karen Salmansohn, too)

I'm a big fan of quotes too. I went to my FB page to see if I had any that might fit into this thread. Most of them don't but I thought this slightly irreverant one might:
"We've been through more trouble than the Jews and Charlie Brown put together"
Homer Simpson
I have a quote that I really love hanging on the wall in my office. I copied it from SR but don't remember who posted it or the original source:
Treat everyone you meet as enlightened and you are the only person who isn't. It's changing your perceptions from "Why are they doing this?" to "What are they trying to teach me?"

Also....
"You must do the thing you think you cannot do." ~Eleanor Roosevelt
"Happiness depends on ourselves" ~ Aristotle
"The human spirit is never finished when it's defeated.... it is finished when it surrenders." ~Ben Stein
"Fall 7 times, stand up 8." ~Japanese proverb
