I'm waiting on fedex and my ND5 filter, it's like watching paint dry. I spent ten hours tracking one down that could be delivered in time, but that's what I get for waiting until the last minute. I have most of my photography equipment packed up and it's more stuff than personal items lol. I'm thinking about heading a little west of the city to photograph the Milky Way, too.

We're in construction and have an account with the welders supply store here. That's a good thing because they held their last welders #14 sheet for my husband. The mgr told him they've gone through it all week long, from photographers heading out west.

I've spent the last three days studying everything possible, and now I'm ready to start testing it all this evening. I'm so excited I can't hardly focus on today

Arizona: Partial eclipse in Phoenix, full eclipse at the Grand Canyon. But let's face it...nobody in Arizona goes to the Grand Canyon unless visiting relatives make them.

Well, today's the day. I spent part of yesterday testing, improvising filters, practicing with time lapse. But, yesterday turned out to be very cloudy. Keep your fingers crossed for a clear day here in the far north of CA.

I was in the auto parts store yesterday looking at welder's lenses. They had about 30 of them, but I couldn't decide if I wanted to use that or something else. Today I went back to get one and bought the last one they had!

And it looks like the clouds are burning off! Woohoo!

I've just barely had the chance to look through my photos. Not even all of them, but this one jumped out at me.

Nice job LTD! I like the prism effect going on.

I just got home about an hour ago and had a great time.
This is my favorite of the actual ring

Awesome pics! Especially for those of us on the eastern coast who didn't get to see it

Hugs and prayers,

Amy

It's weird, only a few of my "ring" photos have those rays. I think it must be due to the very light clouds, almost haze really, that started to come in around the time of the apex.

That's an awesome ring. The moon shadow was a bit bigger from your vantage point it appears.

I was exactly underneath the center line. I didn't plan it that way, but lucked out by running into some really cool amateur astronomers who steered me to my spot

Okay, check this out. This is from my other camera. Look just above and to the left of the sun. There is a lens flare that is a perfect little reflection of the eclipse. How cool is that?

I made a collage of the eclipse. I kinda like how it got a little cloudy toward the end.
