Back from Negril yesterday and uploaded some diving clips:

Here's a cool coral swim through:

Here's a sea snake, 1st time I've seen one of these:

Here's a shy eel hiding in the coral that pops into the frame about half way through the clip:

Cliff jumping at Ricks Cafe, or falling uncontrollably from a 35 ft rock is more like it.

Wow! Really cool stuff. So, while I was in the desert, you were in the water.

Awesome pictures, Jazzman. I am too afraid to dive, but love to see what's down there. Thanks for sharing these.

Funny that Tho I live in diving and snorkeling heaven, right beside the Great Barrier Reef.. I cannot put my head underwater at all. NOT even in the bath.

Put it down to a teacher shoving me into the public baths when I was very, very young and my response to hitting and going under freezing cold water when not expecting that.

Thanks to a split second action by some dipstick I now don't remember, I have not been able to enjoy experiences that family and friends take as normal over the past 60 years. The power of fear on our brain can hold us back from many pleasures.

I couldn't thank all the posts but thanks Jazzman! very cool !! are you the one jumping off the cliff ?

I also go as far as snorkeling, I am afraid of diving and finding sharks or sea snakes... I get claustrophobic.. maybe someday I fight this fear of mine, for now I'll learn to swim... to me, that is progress.

Jadmack its ok, I am Mexican and I don't eat chili, I don't like beers, nor tequila (I drink it if I feel like I am getting the flu, its a good bacteria killer but that's it), am allergic to CORN for God's sakes, one main ingredient in our traditional food. I dislike bullfighting very much and I couldn't care less about soccer, national or otherwise. LOL.

Let's keep turning the F&F forum into a travel blog

Yes it's me falling. Believe it or not there were a couple women that made the jump from the top who didn't know how to swim! They had one of the guides waiting below to help them swim the 20 feet to the ladder. Brave souls!

I'm also claustrophobic, so bad I can't even watch movies like Sanctum or The Descent. I know it's counter intuitive, but there's nothing at all claustrophobic about diving. Just don't do a cenote

Great Pics, Jazzman! How were those people standing up underwater? Do the tanks weigh them down that much?

I WILL learn to dive some day. Bucket list.

Glad you had a good vaca.

You wear a weight belt or you would never be able to descend. I dive with 12lbs based on 5% of my body weight plus adding a couple LBs because I use a neoprene vest that adds buoyancy. You'll learn all about that when you get certified
