Update on me...
My recent absence around SR hasn't been voluntary, but due to the fact I got violently ill on the 30th of May. By the time Amber got me to the ER, I was severely dehydrated, and the doctor didn't like the cardiac enzymes she was seeing on labs, so I was life-flighted to a medical center in Wichita and put in ICU.
The good news is that it was not a cardiac event. It was a non-bacterial gastroenteritis that was life-threatening however. I really hope to not ever repeat that experience again.
When I was moved out of ICU, I ended up in a room on the 10th floor, with a beautiful view facing east, so I was able to watch the sunrise in the mornings. It sure did make me grateful to be alive.
I'm taking it very easy right now, lots of naps, eating regularly, staying hydrated. Our little AA group's annual bbq/campfire meeting is tonight, but given the 95+ temps, high humidity, and recently being discharged from the hospital, well, I bet they pull it off nicely without my supervision!
I'm glad to be back, SR!

(((DeVon))) - I know how much you enjoy the annual bonfire thingie, but really glad you are staying home and taking care of yourself.
Very grateful you got good care fast enough. Sending prayers that you are protected from any more evil little germs.
Love, hugs, and prayers,
Amy

Good old Google...
Caused by a virus and characterized by fever, abdominal cramps, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and headache. Also called acute infectious nonbacterial gastroenteritis.
It's also contagious.

Where are the alarms and smoke signals when these kinds of things happen?? How easily you could have been gone from us and we would only be left to wonder if you chose to stay away or something sinister happened. I'm just so relieved you're all right now.
Now...can I show you something in a nice Bubble, Ms. Dev, or perhaps something more portable such as this nifty HazMat suit. Can you type in cryo-stasis? What's the technology like with that stuff these days? Anyone know?
Ok, I'm calming down now. No more scares like this okay? Promise me.
I hope you are back to 100% very soon!

Suki, that was the other thing. It took forever for the danged fever to finally break. I forgot about that till you posted the google results.
I guess the fever is the kicker. The other symptoms all sound like a stomach flu or food poisoning, but they don't come with fever. Glad you got help in time. Now, don't do that again, okay?

WHOA!!
That's definitely a kick in the pants to make sure one is taking care of oneself! I am glad you made the decision to sit out on this year's bonfire. It's time to simmer down a little and just get physically better!
I'm sorry that happened to you and so very glad they were smart enough to identify and treat it so well.
