Hi melloe, and Welcome to SR!

I'm sorry you are hurting....alcoholism is such a lousy, rotten, disease. It destroys relationships, and it destroys lives.

You are among people to totally get it. There isn't one of us who hasn't been where you are now--hurt, confused, overwhelmingly sad--just because someone we love is an alcoholic or drug addict in active addiction. It can and does get better for us!

I hope you will stick around, keep reading, keep asking questions, and learn all you can about this disease called addiction.

Take this time to take care of yourself, and not worry about what is going on with him. You deserve your time and attention!

HG

hey Melloe... i am new here too and like you i kicked my husband of 11 years out on Sunday, 4 days ago.

teh only thing i can tell you is how strong i feel and how proud i am to be rid of a blackout drunk controlling a**hole. i have put up with many many years of mental, verbal and somtimes physical abuse. i do have another reason maybe than you do...do you have kids? i have 2 daughters age 15 and 9. they have seen more violence in their short lives than most see ever. i have something to protect and i have to be ok to make them ok.

good luck sweetheart.... only you know how you feel but try not to get caught up in the cycle...its hard to come back from
