Asking for prayers for Amber's ABF...

Even though I don't care for him, I do have a heart.

He had surgery last Thursday to remove old hardware from a broken jaw he suffered when he was 18, 11 years ago. Screws were backing out of the plates.

Amber stopped by this morning with her two dogs, and Chris came in the house with her. One look and I knew something was wrong. He was ashen, and it was obvious he was in a great deal of pain.

All the suturing came undone except for one stitch. He pulled his bottom lip down to show me, and it's open to the bone. I've got a strong stomach, but that made it lurch.

They were headed back over to Wichita to the surgery center, so please keep Chris in your prayers. I can't imagine the pain as I've not had something like that before.

Oh my Freedom!
God knows I have read enough about him to know he is a fool.
But geez, I know that is misery.
I am praying for him, and a release from that horrible pain.
Impacted wisdom teeth have made me cry, and I did not cry during child birth.
So, yes, he needs some help right away.
Praying for Chris.

I often think of myself as one of the fools for whom God has to do some extra looking after.
I suppose some prayers for another fool is the least I should do to pay that forward.

Prayers for Chris.

Thank you so much for the prayers, ladies.

Oh man, that sounds bad. And an infection in that area would be very very bad.

I sure hope they get him fixed up today.

He did have an infection when they took the hardware out and he was started on some high-powered antibiotics. I hope it's not worse now.

Gads, I got dry sockets too. What a nightmare that was.

The antibiotics should have kept the infection down Freedom, was he swollen?

Yes, he was swollen, but not as badly as the day after surgery.

Amber just called and they told him it will heal. WTF?!!! He's supposed to keep it clean by rinsing with 50/50 hydrogen peroxide and water.

At least two more weeks off of work now till his recheck.

Amber asked me when I was going to come and see her new place.

Actually I've been irritated as poo that he's been over there 99% of the time since helping her move, and I had planned to see it when he was not there.

So much for my plans, I guess.

((DeVon)) - sorry, but I question the logic of "it will heal" and hope he has the sense to go BACK if it gets worse.

Like everyone else, here, I've wanted to him more than a few times, but I wouldn't wish this on anyone, so prayers are going up for his healing and relief from pain.

Hugs and prayers,

Amy

Thanks Amy, I question that logic too. I was stunned when she called and told me that.

On a different and brighter note, Oreo kitty is doing wonderfully in his new residence as the only kitty. Amber says he's eating well, sleeps with her at night, and has been playing with some new mouse toys she got him. We definitely made the right decision in me keeping the rest of her cats at my house for Oreo's benefit.

Did they at least give him something for the pain?

Oh yes, they refilled his percocets. *shudder*

That is a distinct 'do NOT give' on my medical charts.

I was thinking that, alcoholism and pain pills etc. But..well, he IS in pain. Sigh.

Everything gets so complicated doesn't it?

I could take 1/2 of a percocet when I was allowed to take 2 and that made me fall right to sleep.
